Rooted in Place

Rooted in Place supports communities - and the partners who work alongside them - to take on, manage, and make good use of local land and assets.
We believe that strong places grow from people working together with clarity, care, and confidence.

We’re here to offer practical support, grounded advice, and a calm presence in what can often feel like complex or uncertain territory.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help communities shape and steward the places they care about, in ways that meet real local needs and last for the long term.

We do this by offering friendly, practical support with planning, governance, funding, partnership-building, and the everyday decisions that make projects work.

How we work

Our work is guided our working principles. They help us build trust, stay grounded, and offer support that feels steady and human.

Curious

We begin by listening. Every place, every group, and every landowner carries a unique story, so we start with questions rather than assumptions. Curiosity helps us understand what’s really needed.

Transparent

We’re open about options, costs, responsibilities, and boundaries. No jargon, no hidden complexity - just clear, honest communication that supports good decision-making.

Relational

Good work is built on trust. We invest in relationships, take time to understand what matters to people, and work in ways that feel respectful and steady.

We Work at the Pace of Trust

We don’t rush, and we don’t push people faster than they’re ready to go. Trust takes time, and moving at a pace that feels right helps projects take root in healthy, lasting ways.

Pragmatic

We focus on what’s possible, useful, and grounded in the realities of your place. Our support is practical, down-to-earth, and shaped by what helps you make real progress.

Accountable

We do what we say we’ll do, and we hold ourselves to clear standards of care and reliability. You’ll always know where things stand and what to expect next.
